I can’t believe I haven’t shared this recipe before. It’s a staple in our home! Super simple, delicious & easy on the budget. My aunt brought us this dish when I was pregnant with my daughter, and on bed rest. My husband, son and I all loved it and when I asked her for the recipe I wasn’t surprised by her answer…..”Pinterest”.
Served with a green salad and some oven roasted potatoes, you have a meal sure to please even the pickiest of eaters.
What you need;
Pork tenderloin (around 2 pounds)
3 tbls butter
2 tbls honey
Salt & pepper
Cayenne pepper (optional)
How to make;
Melt 1 tbls of butter in an oven proof skillet until almost browned. While the butter is melting, remove the silverskin from the pork and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper and about 1/4-1/2 tsp of ground cayenne pepper (optional). The cayenne does add some heat so I don’t add it if my son is eating this too, but for my husband and I, the heat with the sweet honey is a nice combo. Once the butter is melted and starting to brown, add the tenderloin and brown on all sides. When the pork is browning on the last side, add the other 2 tbls of butter. Drizzle the 2 tbls of honey over the pork and toss the pork around in the honey butter sauce. Put the skillet with the pork in the oven at 400 and bake for 12 min. After 12 min, flip the pork over and bake an additional 12 minutes. Let the pork rest at least 5 minutes before slicing. Drizzle the browned honey butter sauce over the pork.
This dish is great leftover and can easily be doubled if you have a large pork tenderloin. I typically make a 1.5 to 2 pound tenderloin and there is plenty of browned honey butter sauce.
I hope you enjoy!
